I was telling Emily from Life at the White House that I am not on Team Jacob or Team Edward. I am on Team Charlie.
I am a mature woman and I would still be sort of a cougar with our age differences (I'm 53 he's 46) but who cares. He has no teenage angst.
I'm thinking about making a TEAM CHARLIE T-shirt...what do you think?
Yup
*Update! We saw the movie and I was happy. I know there are those out there that criticize the Twilight mania, but I just like the light reading and story. I am not obsessed...I am smitten.
A few years ago, I found a newspaper at Borders in Mesa AZ, and there was an article on the front page about a local writer, Stephenie Meyer, and her the first book, Twilight. This was before most people knew about it. I was intrigued...vampires have always interested me.
I like that the author is LDS (Mormon) because I am LDS and I like to support other LDS authors when I can.
I bought Twilight and liked it. I never thought it would take off like it has. Criticize all you want, I don't care. Don't read the books or watch the movies. Problem solved.
I read a lot of styles of books from YA, Fantasy to Mystery novels. I never read romance novels with Twilight being the exception.
I know I told you, but I am writing a book...it is not fantasy or about vampires. But I guarantee laughter.
I love you as much as my Aunt Bessy's Peach Cobbler,
Lindy
NICE! Love it!! Then I can make my Team Mike Newton shirt to represent the realistic crowd. Underneath it I can write. "He won't kill you." ha ha. Ah, but no one would be that entertained, just me.
ReplyDeleteI would support you :)
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing the "Team Charlie" thing a lot and even though I saw the first two movies, I JUST NOW realized he's Bella's father. (I'm a little slow.)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I had some people over on Saturday to rewatch the first two movies (I don't care for them, but I like having people over, so ...). As we were watching, I was thinking that the best-looking and coolest guy of all the guys was her father! lol But then I realized that was gross in terms of the movie because he's her father and all. But for ME, yeah, it would be Charlie. If I had to choose or something.
If not, it will always be Team Madmartigan.
Thank you, Renee. I haven't read the books in a while and I couldn't think of who Charlie was.

Renee~ Madmartigan...from Willow?
ReplyDeleteI like Fantasy books and Twilight was light reading and brought up my spirits at a time they were down...I am not obsessed and the movies haven't been the best...I still enjoy them :) I'm easy to please.
I have never seen Team Charlie stuff...that's funny.
Yes, definitely!
ReplyDeleteSaw Eclipse and loved it! I was surprised at all they were able to work in with Jasper and Rosalie's back stories. Charlie is such a great character. Wear that shirt with pride!
ReplyDeleteM~ Did you see the movie?
ReplyDeleteYoung Wife~ saw the movie today...didn't have time to make the T-Shirt but I will! I did like the back stories...can't wait for the next one!
ReplyDelete"Renee~ Madmartigan...from Willow?"
ReplyDeleteMy first love. Yes, ma'am! There's never been another to take his place. *sigh*
I haven't seen shirts or anything saying "Team Charlie" (although I haven't seen them saying anything else, either, even though I know they exist), but I've read a couple other blogs talking about "Team Charlie."
I get the brain candy aspect of the books. I've picked up a romance novel or two at the library when I wanted something silly and easy to read. I imagine it's somewhat the same thing with Twilight. Someday, I'll probably read the books. I hated the first two movies, though.
Renee, I may have not liked the movies if I hadn't read the books. But I thought they were pretty good. I am easy to please!
ReplyDeleteNope, didn't see the movie. I read the books. I enjoyed them for what they are. The Twilight movies don't really interest me.
